The design of the contemporary monk strap is based on the buckled shoes of the 17th and 18th centuries. Since the 20th century, the monk strap has become part and parcel of men’s fashion and is considered a sporty and elegant everyday shoe. The double monk strap gets its name from the two lateral metal buckles that hold together the quarters of the shoe.

Buckle shoe whose basic cut resembles a derby, yet describes a shoe model in its own right. The quarters of this monkstrap are held together by the characteristically opulent buckle.
