G
Glaze
The leather layer that is applied last. Also known as lacquer. Glaze protects the leather and lends the final touch to its appearance. It is important to know what kind of glaze has been used on the uppers of your shoes so that you can select the proper shoe care products.
Goodyear-Welted
The production method for men's shoes with a premium look. On Goodyear-welted shoes, the welt lies between the shaft and the outsole. An invisible welt stitch combines the shaft with the insole and the welt with the insole. A visible double stitch combines the welt with the outsole. The production process behind making Goodyear-welted shoes is very labour-intensive. Only the best materials are used. As a result, shoes made this way fall into a higher price bracket. However, they are also more durable, easier to repair, and maintain a stable form and fit.
