Visit nowThe Famaco premium welt brush, similar in design to a toothbrush, features a Bubinga wood handle and elongated brush head with horsehair bristles. Its shape allows it to easily reach spots that are difficult to clean, like the space between the welt and the vamp. It’s also well suited for applying shoe care products such as cream or paste to this space—a cloth wouldn’t be able to reach.
Famaco’s premium welt brush helps keep your shoes in mint condition over the years. Leather shoes that lack a protective wax layer are susceptible to water damage (during or after rainfall, when passing through puddles, etc.) Applying wax-based shoe cream with a cotton cloth or a shoe cream brush protects the leather from water. On Goodyear-welted shoes, though, the space between the welt and the vamp is notoriously difficult to treat in this manner. This space is therefore particularly vulnerable; however, with a welt brush you can ensure that it’s properly protected.
Decorated shoes require special care; the Famaco premium welt brush provides it. The brush’s soft horsehair bristles reach tough spots that a cloth wouldn’t, such as broguing perforations. Cloths are better suited for cleaning larger areas; a task for which, in turn, welt brushes are poorly suited.
The Frenchman Frédéric Pfirter developed his first shoe cream in Paris over 80 years ago. Since then, along with his son (who took over the Famaco enterprise in 1974), he has continually refined the formula. The Famaco product range also includes various specialized shoe brushes for applying shoe care products. Famaco premium welt brushes are an essential addition to every shoe care kit—ideally, one for each shoe colour.
The Famaco Premium Welt Brush is 16.5 cm in length and available with light or dark horsehair bristles.
